Nick Laird-Clowes (best known as the frontman of 80s pop band The Dream Academy) created the soundtrack to Nick Broomfield's 2019 film about Leonard Cohen and his Norwegian muse Marianne Ihlen.
Nick has spent the last two decades composing music for both film and documentaries and work includes 'About Time' directed by Richard Curtis and another Nick Broomfield feature documentary ‘Whitney: Can I Be Me’.
The album ‘Marianne And Leonard: Words of Love’ is a beautiful and haunting score, perfectly capturing the Mediterranean locations and dark, emotional and electrically charged drama of Nick Broomfield’s very personal vision.
In 1994 Nick Laird-Clowes worked on Pink Floyd’s multi-million selling ‘The Division Bell’ also contributing lyrics to two tracks. Other co-composition credits include both Brian Wilson and Daryl Hall.
The vinyl album will be released on 6 December 2019
