Kraftwerk have announced a 50th anniversary blu-ray edition of their landmark 1974 album Autobahn.

After re-visiting the original 16-track master tapes, Kraftwerk founder Ralf Hütter with engineer Fritz Hilpert have created a brand-new Dolby Atmos Mix which takes the listening experience of this seminal recording further and deeper than ever before.

The blu-ray edition features the album in the following versions:

  • Dolby Atmos Mix
  • 5.1 Mix (48/24 - rendered from the Atmos)
  • Stereo Mix (48/24) [2009 remastered audio]

Additionally, the blu-ray features two 2024 single edits and a video of the Autobahn edit using animation/live projection visuals.

This region-free blu-ray audio comes with a 12-page booklet in amaray packaging, and ships with an exclusive slipcase (note: The 50th anniversary sticker shown in the image sits outside the shrink-wrap).

Autobahn is released on 7 March 2025 via Parlophone

    This blu-ray audio requires a blu-ray player. Decoding the Dolby Atmos Mix requires a Dolby Atmos certified soundbar or a Dolby Atmos compatible receiver or amplifier, with appropriate speaker set-up. The Dolby Atmos Mix will play on 5.1 systems. It will 'fold down' to 5.1 if an Atmos decoder is not detected and sounds in elements that are unique to Atmos (e.g. 'height' speakers) will get player via other channels.
